Congratulations Supriya Prakash, Ph.D. on successfully defending your PhD dissertation! Amazing work demonstrating the power of backpacks to activate NK cells to treat cancer Harvard SEAS Wyss Institute

Excited to share our review on PEGylated therapeutics where we summarize diverse PEGylation strategies, key advantages of PEGylated therapeutics and their broad applications in clinical settings. aiche.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/bt… Samir Mitragotri Yongsheng Gao Zongmin Zhao @BioTM_Buzz

Paper w/ Jennifer Guerriero, PhD, Samir Mitragotri! We find that macrophage tumor transport + kinetics (TK) depend on the phenotype + "shape-shifting" character & TK should be a design criteria for therapeutic cells, more broadly. Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard SEAS. More to come. pubs.aip.org/aip/apr/articl…

Curious about the clinical status of cancer vaccines? We analyzed 360 active clinical trials to paint a comprehensive picture of where we are, and what's next. Thrilled to see my first, first-author review out in BioTM this week w/ Samir Mitragotri: aiche.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/bt…

Even mild TBIs can cause lasting damage, and most are never diagnosed. A team at the Wyss, Harvard SEAS, & Boston Children's created a way to diagnose TBIs even when MRI scans showed nothing. Samir Mitragotri wyss.harvard.edu/news/shining-a…

TBIs can cause lasting damage, but stopping the brain inflammation they cause is hard. A team at the Wyss, Harvard SEAS & MassGeneral News made a new treatment using macrophages: immune cells that migrate to the brain. They reduced lesion size by 56% in models. wyss.harvard.edu/news/using-the…

I’m excited to have our manuscript out demonstrating the potential of backpack-augmented macrophages for the treatment of TBI! Only possible with co-lead Neha Kapate, PhD, Beth Costine-Bartell, PhD 🧠🫀🔬🐖🥽🥼🧬🩸, Samir Mitragotri, and the rest of the team.

Happy March! It's time for #STATMadness. The Wyss has three entries this year - ovarian organoids, melanoma treatment monitoring, and cellular backpacks for MS. Be sure to vote so we can advance to the next round! Samir Mitragotri Natalie Artzi george church statnews.com/feature/stat-m…

Remember, you can vote in #STATMadness once a day! Check out Wyss entries in matchups 7, 9, and 27 with work from the labs of Natalie Artzi, Samir Mitragotri, and george church. statnews.com/feature/stat-m…

Proud to share my PhD research from Samir Mitragotri’s group published recently in Nature Biomedical Engineering! We show that neutrophils, activated using attached ‘backpacks’, can help treat various tumors upon adoptive transfer. Harvard SEAS Wyss Institute

What good is an empty backpack? Turns out, they can treat cancer. Researchers at the Wyss and Harvard SEAS discovered that attaching empty polymer microparticles to neutrophils activates the immune cells against skin and breast cancer. nature.com/articles/s4155…

Excited to share our review on hemostatic agents, where we summarize trends in 54 approved hemostats and 75 active clinical trials. Check out this timely article - with Pfizer’s latest gene therapy for Hemophilia B approved just last week! Samir Mitragotri Zongmin Zhao @BioTM_Buzz
