I’ll be attending #CHI2022 in New Orleans with the generous funding support provided by Gary Marsden Travel Award & The Fulbright Program. It’s going to be my first in-person conference attendance as a PhD student. Looking forward to meeting all the awesome HCI researchers & scholars:)

Another thing that bothers me about the whole "girls don't like CS because they prefer people over objects" bullshit is that CS is very strongly about people, just the more people-focused areas of CS are devalued, despite them being the areas of highest societal consequence

Also, on a day-to-day basis as a software engineer or a computer scientist, you must constantly interact with people. Both jobs are *extremely* social. If you think CS is about objects and not people, I don't think I'd want to work with you

I will be attending ACM CHI Conference #chi2025 in Japan next week to present my 1st, first-authored CHI paper! Since my infant will accompany me, I will only attend the sessions on Monday and part of Tuesday. I would love to meet new people and catch up with old friends while I am there
