The current state of our acute care system is "not sustainable for the physicians and it's not good for the patients." Alberta's health care system is on the brink of collapse and our patients are facing the consequences.

It greatly disheartens me, but at this point in time I would NOT advise any docs to continue practicing longitudinal FM in AB. Govt is not going to invest to make that type of practice viable. Do ANYTHING else… you have so many options. Our govt simply does not value FM

Whether cancelling or being unable to schedule surgeries, system problems remain: ongoing shortages of health team members including anesthesia sometimes mean empty ORs. Patients are waiting. As a trusted voice we continue to advocate for the care patients deserve.
