Start with your median last frost date and count back the number of weeks. Count back two more weeks to account for the hardening timeline to know when to plant various vegetable crop seeds indoors! #NebExt

🛠️ Clean your garden tools! ✅ Lysol® (0.1% benzyl ammonium saccharinate) – For pruners, trowels, etc ✅ Bleach (10% solution) – Good for shovels/rakes but corrodes metal. ✅ 70% Isopropyl alcohol – Best for hand pruners & small tools. A little cleaning goes a long way!🌱#NebExt

Keep mower height no shorter than three inches on bluegrass and fescue lawns. The shorter that you mow, the shorter and less drought tolerant the lawn's root system will be! #NebExt

Trees require slow, deep watering, to a depth of 30 cm (12 inches) deeper than that provided by a sprinkler system. Water the blue triangle areas around large trees or shrubs, if possible, every 2 to 3 weeks in summer, especially during hot, dry periods. #NebExt

Blossom end rot is caused by calcium deficiency due to inconsistent soil moisture in container gardens and in-ground gardens. Check soil moisture levels daily in container gardens and every few days in traditional garden plots. #NebExt
