I was honoured to receive Visual Artist of the Year in 2023 at the #NECultureAwards Consider nominating some of our wonderful local creatives & projects! It gave me a confidence boost & pushed me on Audrey 's Bus Stop Goths perhaps? Or STRIKE for Newcomer of the year?

The Holy Pineapple - I'm sorry I never got to see the Church of Christ the King in Bowburn, County Durham. This modern church was built in 1963-69 to a low-budget design by Harold Wharfe. It stood without a roof for three years before the futuristic dome was completed.

Someone on the Other Place identified the churches in our earlier posting so here are 2 more. Both from Clarke's archive so probably SE Wales. I feel I should know the Romanesque arch but I can't place it.

The work of North-East architects extends beyond the borders of our region. The new chapel of St Paul's Training College, Cheltenham was designed by Charles Hodgson Fowler of Durham and opened on 11 June 1910. #Durham, #Cheltenham

PUBLICATION DAY for God is an Englishman! "Of making many books there is no end" but at least this one is done and out in the world. I don't know if it contains wisdom more precious than rubies... /1
