Tonight we celebrated Dr. Denise K. Lajimodiere, former NDSU professor and current North Dakota Poet Laureate. Tomorrow she will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at commencement. She inspires future education leaders and embodies wisdom of Indigenous cultures.

Loved connecting with our Bison friends last night at the social in Bismarck. We talked about what’s happening on campus from hosting 41 Governor’s School students this month, to breaking ground and opening two new agriculture facilities next week. Exciting time to be a Bison! 🤘

Today we celebrated the groundbreaking of the Bolley Agricultural Laboratory and the dedication of the state-of-the-art Peltier Complex. Our future is bright. It’s a great day for North Dakota agriculture and a great day to be a Bison.

Transformative experiences during Governors School as high school scholars reside on campus this summer to conduct research with NDSU faculty and students. Tomorrow concludes this years program and we are thankful for all of our participants and campus leadership and supporters.

Col. Domitrovich, commander of the 119th Wing, hosted us at the base this afternoon to sign a Memorandum of Agreement as we partner for student success. Kate and I enjoyed testing our skills in a flight simulation! I look forward to our continued collaboration.

Yesterday’s ribbon cutting celebrated our new livestock facilities at the Hettinger REC, thanks to the investment from our state legislature. The smart feedlot will support HREC’s precision ag research in small ruminants to address feed efficiency and more. #NDTour24

Lots of learning and discussion at last night’s Williston REC Field Day. Investment in technology with a no-till planter is helping our researchers expand cropping techniques, and the Seed Plant continues to bring new varieties to fields here and across the territory. #NDTour24

Another terrific day for agriculture with the ribbon cutting of the new North Dakota Soybean Processors plant. ND produces about 7 million acres of soybeans annually. NDSU researchers and Extension conduct soybean research including breeding, agronomy, marketing and processing.

I’m so grateful for our wonderful faculty and staff who work everyday for the success of our students. This afternoon we showed our appreciation with a picnic at the house. Thank you all and Go Bison!

It’s move-in day at NDSU! We are welcoming about 3,000 students into our residence halls before we kickoff all the festivities of Welcome Week. It’s a fun time to be a Bison! 🦬

We rolled out the welcome mat for students this week and had a lot of fun. Here are a few highlights: Saturday Night Live at the Memorial Union, Walk Through the Gates to welcome new students, a Bison Block Party at Scheels, football, music and more. Go Bison! 🤘

There are so many opportunities for students to get involved at NDSU, with over 275 student organizations to choose from. Kate and I enjoyed getting to interact with many of them this afternoon at the Student Involvement Expo. Go Bison!
