Yesterday the Dept. of Agriculture announced that they will invest about $138 million of financial assistance from the Inflation Reduction Act in 138 new climate-smart conservation easements, North Carolina received funds in to protect farmland and restore wetlands. bit.ly/3PhQ8Ba

This is what the rye & hairy vetch cover crop looks like after being rolled (cover crop rolled may have been a little earlier) and planted 4/29 with corn. Looks great. Now let’s see how the corn performs.

Last week we flail mowed our hairy vetch plots in Goldsboro. This is part of our N rate study for #organic sunflower. We'll be looking at the impact of different N rates and cover crop N contribution on yield and oil quality. #covercrop #agronomy
