Compared to 1 year ago, prices for 2nd quarter pine sawtimber, pine chip-n-saw, & hardwood pulpwood are up. However, hardwood sawtimber & pine pulpwood prices have not fared as well on a state-wide basis with prices declining. See the price report: forestry.ces.ncsu.edu/2024/07/north-…

North Carolina’s forest sector is strong. According to NC State Extension Forestry, NC’s forest sector contributed more than $42.5 billion to the state’s economy in 2022, showing more than $7.2 billion in economic growth over the previous year and predominantly in rural counties.
