Donation: The Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) today received a generous donation from Prison Fellowship Namibia (PFN), consisting of 1,000 pairs of socks valued at N$10,000 and 130 hygiene packs worth N$20,020.

NCS has officially launched the Community Service Order (CSO) Program at the Oranjemund and Rosh Pinah Periodical Courts marking a significant step in its nationwide rollout strategy. Now, 60 of 71 courts across Namibia are able to issue CSO to non-violent offenders.

The Walvis Bay Correctional Facility is hosting a Gender-Based Violence Walk on 15 November 2025. The event will commence from Narraville community hall to Kuisebmund stadium in Walvis bay. All community community members are invited to participate. #GBV

The NCS has donated fresh vegetables worth N$92,000 to seven schools in the Mukwe Constituency, Kavango East Region. Commissioner Eliakim Shikongo, Regional Commander for the North-Eastern Region, handed the items to Hon. Damian Maghambai, Councillor for Mukwe Constituency.

The Walvis Bay Correctional Facility held a successful Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Walk, themed “Breaking the Silence, Building the Future.” The event brought together community members, regional leaders, civil society partners and youth groups in a united stand against GBV. P

Walvis Bay- Community Advisory Committee member Ivo De Gouvia, together with the Gideons International Church donated 200 bibles offering spiritual support to inmates. The Bibles are in English, oshindonga, and Afrikaans, symbolizing hope, guidance, and the power of faith.

Chief Correctional Officer Maria Paulus has retired after 23 years of committed and uninterrupted service. She joined the service in 2002 and was deployed to the Keetmanshoop Correctional Facility, as a Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), Officer. #correctionalservices #NCS

Deputy Commissioner Johannes Kakonda has been promoted to the rank of Commissioner, Directorate Finance, effective 01 Feb 2026. He served as Deputy Commissioner in the Division of Budget Execution from 2009 to 2023 and has been acting in the position since August 2025.
