On Monday (3/17), contractors will begin milling and resurfacing a four-mile stretch of NC12 from the Dare-Currituck line southward near the town of Duck. Single lane closures will be in place during the work, which will take about 2 weeks. Please drive carefully in the area.

Although this is not related to NC12, a heads up for those coming to/leaving the Outer Banks this morning (4/9): The Alligator River Bridge on US 64 is currently CLOSED to all traffic due to a vehicle crash.

UPDATE: Traffic on the Alligator River Bridge has been restored, but it will take time to clear completely. Bridge staff will also be stopping traffic briefly later to replace the metal gate, which was thrown into the river in the crash. Please drive carefully if crossing today.
