I often talk about how Chompa learning Farsi and English is drawn from my memories learning Bengali in Saturday school, and that it took me all the way to University of Oxford and to becoming a Dr and an author too. Where did I do that? IN THE VERY LIBRARY WHERE I WON THE AWARD TODAY.
I am overwhelmed to have won this award from readers from the very libraries that were my sanctuaries and treasure chests when I was growing up in Wood Green. This North London girl is so proud today. Thank you so so much #bibliobuzz Alexandra Palace Children's Book Award Alexandra Palace Haringey Libraries
When you mix a stunning venue like Alexandra Palace with books, authors, hundreds of kids, live music, rock concert lighting and a fab host in the form of Jack Meggitt-Phillips you get this and it was MAGIC.
