.RSPB Minsmere 🌍 was teeming with insects on Monday. My Naturetrek group recorded 17 species of butterfly and 12 different dragonflies, as well as over 60 species of bird. Silver-washed Fritillaries showed especially well.

Despite the very gloomy skies, I led a Naturetrek Dragonfly tour at New Hythe today. Highlights included 2 Lesser Emperor (1 seen catching a Migrant Hawker), 2 Beautiful Demoiselle and plenty of Damselflies. British Dragonfly Society #Teamdragonfly

Last Friday I had a super day guiding a Naturetrek group at Dunwich & Westleton. We found Spoonbills, Avocets, Stone Curlews & Dartford Warblers plus Red-veined Darter. 20 sp butterfly included White-letter Hairstreak, Silver-studded Blue, Grayling & White Admiral.
We started our day with guests from Naturetrek yesterday among the vibrant Griffon #Vulture colony and here we were delighted to find the ultra rare adult 𝐑𝐮̈𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥´𝐬 𝐕𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 leaving the roost with 2 Egyptian Vultures and squadrons of Griffon #Vultures just

On 24th July 2025, record UK numbers of the globally and critically endangered Balearic Shearwater were seen in Lyme Bay, Devon through a survey conducted by the charity MARINElife on a Naturetrek trip. Full story bit.ly/45jZZ0x

Well, she left it late, but finally, on the last evening of the tour, this little lady finally showed in the backyard of the Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse for all Naturetrek clients, even if some did have to come out in their pyjamas ro see her! 🫣
