This rare orchid, spotted by @trufflehogwalk growing on a verge nr Chinnor has just been confirmed as a Lizard Orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum), a spectacular plant when in flower (right). Delicate pink carpets of Bog Pimpernel (Lysimachia tenella) were flowering in the fen at BBOWT's Parsonage Moor, nr Oxford ... but in the damp marshy grassland at Whiteford Burrows on the Gower there were 1000s.
