GM! This is a Gray Catbird from my travels. A wonderful songster that sounds like a cat meowing, it can also mimic other species! 🩶😻

GM! This is a Common Yellowthroat. What a stunning little warbler! This was also taken at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, an absolutely fabulous place to visit! 💛

Happy Sunday! As I was leaving the park in Boston, I noticed this bird feeding in the open. To my surprise, it was an Orchard Oriole! What a handsome bird 🧡

Happy new week! Here’s the other Oriole I saw on my travels, the Baltimore Oriole. With its striking orange body, you can spot them but getting a photo is definitely challenging as they don’t like to hang around! 🧡

I didn’t know where to look today…. all these Azure Damselflies were mating 🙈

GM! As well as birds, I absolutely love to photograph insects so it was fabulous to see this Hairy Dragonfly yesterday, eating a fly (spot the wings!) on a large Azalea bush. Just stunning little things! 🩷🩵

I went to looking for Dragonflies today and I was really pleased to find this pretty female Scarce Chaser enjoying the warm sunshine! 🧡

Back to my Boston trip! A totally unexpected sighting was this Scarlet Tanager hopping around the tree. That vivid red easily stood out, even though it was a little distant! ❤️

GM! I was greeted with singing from this beautiful Song Sparrow when I visited the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. I knew then that it was going to be a great day! 🥰

Lots of chicks and young birds on my walk today which cheered me up no end! Here’s two Canadian Geese goslings who were keeping very close to Mum and Dad 💛🥰

Good morning! It was lovely seeing this juvenile Robin yesterday, finding their own way in this big world! In just a few months, they will have their distinctive red breast ❤️

GM! I could hear birds calling and was thrilled to see this Great Spotted Woodpecker at a nest! I didn’t see any beaks poking out of the hole so I presume they are very young. Taken at a distance, they were not disturbed ❤️

There’s nothing more satisfying than a good scratch when you have an irritating itch! One of the Eastern Cottontails I saw during my trip to Boston! 🐰🤎

GM! Back to my Boston trip for this photo! This Blue Jay was enjoying the dripping tap, an easy way to get a quiet drink! Just look at those beautiful feathers 🩵💙
