A short time ago, Gov. Glenn Youngkin said the shooting of four individuals at Virginia State University is "concerning," and it's important the victims receive "all the care and support they need." Police have told the media that none of the victims were students.

Virginia Sen. Mark Peake, R-Lynchburg, called a committee mtg "absurd" before walking out after being told that lawmakers couldn't ask university reps directly about their institutions' handling of demonstrations related to the Israel-Hamas war. He returned after 15 minutes.

For context: Virginia Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, D-Richmond, informed the committee at the start of today’s meeting that they would be able to submit questions to the university reps after testimonies were provided.
