Blocking comparison of different locations with each set up. Still personally a bigger fan of blocking from two feet but knee down stances can be more versatile than people give them credit for.

Old School vs. New School Round 3 (Glove load edition) A proper glove load allows us to create momentum back to the zone as we work through the ball. A static glove start typically forces a stab down at the ball which creates two separate motions.

Perfectly said here! For some reason, a lot of people right now don’t understand that there’s more than one way to do things behind the plate. Catchers need multiple tools in their belt and the one they choose at any given time is what best fits their strengths/situation.

Pretty cool receiving comparison here. Before: -Working down to the ball -Trying to “stick” the pitch Now: -Good glove load -Using momentum up through the ball -Solid at contact and snaps to extension

Always fun working with other high level catchers that have a slightly different receiving style. There’s no such thing as a one size fits all approach and even when using similar techniques, each individual can approach things their own way and have success. Noah Cook
