Yesterday was the last day for many inquests into Troubles-related deaths. From today, the Legacy Act shuts down most inquests, keeping open only those where final verdicts remain. It's already extinguished future civil actions + police investigations.

A disgraceful statute.

Re - The Home Office's surprise plan to start rounding up people for deportation from Monday.

The powerful throw a crisis in our path to destablise us - to weaken us.

Though it's really hard, we need to be grounded in our approach

Three things we can do.

When the horror starts for all of us, regular immigrants, second generation citizens, people with strange-sounding names, communities that celebrate different holidays, we will ask ourselves at what point it could have still been stopped. At THIS point.

The reports coming from Nasser hospital are beyond horrifying. Knowing that our taxes continue to arm Israel makes me feel physically sick. At what point will our political parties stand up and recognise the dystopian nightmare staring us in the face.
