Interior operations include testing various technologies in an extreme environment. Aquanaut Shirley Pomponi is wearing Draper Wearable Kinematics System while reviewing her timeline and procedures on NASA Ames Playbook.

It will take 15 hours & 45 minutes to carefully bring the NASA_NEEMO 23 crew back to surface pressure inside their now closed Aquarius Reef Base Aquarius habitat: it takes actually more time to come back from a NEEMO mission than to come back from the International Space Station !

Last day of our #NEEMO23 Mission! Every NEEMO mission is a bit different. We study various aspects of science, spaceflight & operations ranging from the Moon to Mars. One thing remains constant: exploration inspires us all to work hard & reach for the stars. 📷 Karl Shreeves

This place Aquarius Reef Base is special. Our aquanauts have called it home for a little over a week, living and working underwater so we can learn the best exploration strategies for the Moon. 🚀🐠

Less than an hour to splash-up... time to return to the surface and rejoin the "topsiders". Looking forward to seeing the sunlight and have a hot shower, but I will miss Aquarius. #Neemo23

Our amazing #NEEMO23 aquanauts are back on “topside” - i.e., they have safely emerged from Aquarius Aquarius Reef Base! The only thing left is the debrief session and packing up.
