I just logged my 250th case 😲 before intern year is even over! So thankful I have a program that encourages interns to operate and seniors that want to teach 😍 WSU BSOM Surgery

I think I’m officially old. I’m exhausted today because I stayed up too late playing with my cats 💀

My attending spoke up and stopped hateful comments in the OR last night. I’ve never had an attending do that and it meant SO MUCH to me. I often feel like I can’t speak up and just have to sit silently. Be more like my attending

Started it about six months ago and finally finished, all hand embroidered and at least 25 hours of work 😮‍💨 I’ve never been so proud of something I made!

We had to cancel our anniversary plans because I got stuck at work late. Instead of being upset, Ryan bought me flowers and made my favorite dinner 😭 I have the best, most supportive wife ever 😭 Piper Kirby 🏳️‍⚧️

One of our interns rotated with me as a med student and told me the biggest reason she wanted to come here was because I debriefed with her and made sure she was okay after a particularly difficult trauma. Make sure you take care of each other, this is a hard job

This is why I always talk to my intubated/sedated patients like normal and teach students to do the same. I don’t know if they can hear me or not but I want them to feel safe if they can.
