The news has warped what is actually happening to viewers who too often accept what is said without critical thinking. Many of those people are highly educated urbanites who have lost touch with how things happen in the world.

Politicians, lobbyists, and the news are ramping up fear for money and power. The reality is that most humans are completely divorced from what was once common a century ago. Remember that.

Indeed! Including wonderful BBC shows in the '70s as well, among them "Masterpiece Theatre," Monty Python, the divine Jacob Bronowski's "The Ascent of Man" (when we actually aspired to ascend!!), and the equally divine Kenneth Clark's "Civilisation." Makes you weep.
