🚨 Revealed by Health Service Journal that ring fenced maternity safety funding has been slashed by from £95 million to £2 million. This feels really at odds with a health secretary who only a few months ago met with families who’ve experienced devastating harm and loss.

The maternity budget cuts are from ring fenced funding made available following Donna Ockenden’s report into maternity failings at Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals Trust. It’s clear to see why families feel betrayed and blind-sided.

AND - as Nottingham’s own independent maternity review’s important work continues, between meetings with families, reading about the cuts in the Health Service Journal is how Donna Ockenden found out! 🫤
