While on a hike today, I found some ladybugs🐞. Ladybugs signifying that luck and happiness are on the horizon. I wish everyone happiness and good fortune.

A big thank you to my Strand Book Store managers! What a fantastic team I am surrounded by! You showed yourselves as fierce wordsmiths (no surprise) and Scrabble players last night.

RIP Richard Serra (1938–2024), who was described as 'one of his era’s greatest sculptors.' We hosted Richard many times over the years, here he is in 2007 (presumably around the time of his major MoMA retrospective) with our owner Nancy Bass Wyden

@Nancybasswyden at a Library of Congress Party with Ron Wyden and pal Rep. Steve Israel, a fellow bookstore owner! His bookstore, Theodore’s Books in Oyster Bay, NY is named after Teddy Roosevelt, who lived in that area. FYI, Steve’s satirical novel, Big Guns, is also a great read!

Not to be missed at the National Gallery of Art , a Mark Rothko: Paintings on Paper. The 1933 watercolor of the water view of Portland, where he spent his childhood. His work evolved into the vibrant abstracts. Thank you, curator Adam Greenhalgh, for the tour!
