I am already imagining an incredible year ahead!

Last week, the Middle Eastern Affinity Group hosted a panel about the Iranian Crisis. They invited Dr. Mobasher and Dr. Mireshghi to speak about the history of the protests and the impact the protests are having on Iranians all around the world.

Today the Latinx Affinity Group celebrated Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month. In addition to presenting at Upper School meeting about the difference between Hispanic and Latinx, the leaders of the affinity group led a lunchtime game of Lotería (like bingo) (cont.)

& set up a reflection space for community members to share how they celebrate their Latinx/Hispanic culture. The kitchen staff cooked up some traditional dishes like pozole, mole, tacos, & churros. To culminate the celebration, students enjoyed candies that fell out of the piñata

This week, we're celebrating our Senior Gators on our Golf and Water Polo teams! Come cheer them on and give them a big #GatorChomp Wednesday and Thursday. Go Gators!

Yesterday was the return of the Castilleja Library Edible Book Festival! Students brought food and treats that represented the title, story, or characters of a favorite book. There were literary games, literature-inspired snacks, and prizes for the creations.

The South Asian Affinity Group celebrated Diwali on campus today with snacks, Rangoli drawing, dances, & temporary henna tattoos. Diwali is a festival of lights and symbolizes triumph over darkness and celebrates bravery and perseverance.

The Latinx Affinity Group celebrated Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on campus this week. They set up an ofrenda in the Library, decorated the campus with alebrijes, and shared “pan de muerto” bread with the Casti community.

The Jewish Student Association hosted a discussion on campus this week to offer a space for students to listen & reflect on recent antisemitic statements online. The JSA invited all students & employees to join, show support for Jewish friends and classmates, and learn more.
