Dickbag E. mathaei burrowing into a large Porites colony. Somehow I think this is the first time I've seen an urchin burrow like this on a live coral colony. Anyone know if this is common?

Really cool seeing a video game outlet doing great (local!) sci comm that will likely reach a completely different audience than "regular" scientists would!

A belated halloween spook - found a stonefish (super venomous) on my plots a couple cm from where I was grabbing my corals (pictured here next to one of my cages - 2.5 cm mesh).

Turns out if your boss forces you to stay home you actually will publish more. Lame. Anyway, new pub! We found that fertilizer addition enhanced predation on  corals and also increased algal overgrowth of a slower-growing but hardier species. int-res.com/abstracts/meps…
