The Scottish Government Funeral Director Code of Practice has been approved by committee and will now go before MSPs for final approval, no set time but expected to be in the next few weeks #funeral #standards

The Scottish Government has confirmed today that the Funeral Director Code of Practice will come into force on March 1st 2025, by which time all Funeral Director firms must, said Public Health Minister Jenni Minto, be “fully compliant”.

As of March next year, funeral directors in Scotland will be subject to the Scottish Government Code of Practice and inspections regime,  a statutory Code designed to safeguard the care and dignity of deceased, & ensure transparency for bereaved families.

A new Funeral Director Code of Practice will come into force in Scotland in March 2025, aimed at ensuring minimum standards of care of the deceased. Read more: ow.ly/1Uu350R4gre
