Yesterday TotalEnergies announced €15 billion in profits. 90% of Total’s investments go to oil & gas expansion. Total is currently building the world's longest heated crude oil pipeline in Uganda and Tanzania. All this is done at the cost of nature & human life #StopEACOP

#EACOP project is a great threat to not only Ugandans but the whole world because it will be the longest heated crude oil pipeline ever covering 1445km and producing a great deal of carbon emissions yet the world needs to reduce emissions to combat climate change. #StopEACOP

The world is already experiencing devastating #ClimateImpacts, and while adaptation is vital for those on the frontlines, far more is needed. Only by accelerating emission cuts & increasing #LossAndDamage funding can governments prevent this disaster. #IPCC #ClimateReport

According to Raymond Mugisha Uganda should go ahead with #eacop since wealthy nations are still heavily reliant on fossil fuel for both national revenues and actual usage. What a shallow thinking!! #StopEACOP monitor.co.ug/uganda/oped/co…

From locust infestations in the east to devastating droughts in the south the impacts of climate change are being felt across Africa, which is responsible for only 3% of global carbon emissions.

We live with the impacts of #ClimateCrisis everyday in Africa. Some regions are lucky they just read about them in newspapers or watch on TV. In Kenya the number of people facing starvation has jumped from 3.1 million in Feb to 3.5 million people in April Greta Thunberg

Total plans to drill for oil in a richly biodiverse national park in Uganda and build a 900-mile pipeline, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), which will flow through sensitive environments to a port in Tanzania for export. #StopEACOP theguardian.com/environment/20…

We continue to demand for climate justice because our country is highly vulnerable to climate change and variability - its economy and the wellbeing of its people are tightly bound to climate. Human induced climate change is reversing the country's development trajectory.

"We're not against development, we're against #eacop because it's putting everyone and everything at risk. It's stealing the future of the African child. It's a climate injustice. It's against the #ParisAgreement" Nakabuye Hilda F. in Paris yesterday.

African Governments must stop buying into and reinforcing “net zero” plans. Instead, they must commit to real action to reach Real Zero emissions by 2030, and to hold Big Polluters accountable for their deception in line with their fair share. #MakeThemPay MINISTRY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENT 🇺🇬
