The EU will continue its strong humanitarian action for 2 important reasons. It is who we are. And it is in our strategic interest. 👇 on.ft.com/4hQz0OM

The Int'l Criminal Court is essential in upholding justice & combating impunity. The EU stands unwaveringly behind the ICC. We must boldly call out violations of international law, demand accountability & reinforce our humanitarian diplomacy. I reiterated this message to Karim A. A. Khan KC.

My heart goes out to the 2 children killed in air strike while studying at 🇪🇺funded initiative for displaced people in #Myanmar. This blatantly violates #InternationalHumanitarianLaw. Last year over 750 children were killed or injured in Myanmar. Civilians are not a target.

The extension of the opening of the Adré crossing point is a positive development. It is a lifeline for the delivery of humanitarian assistance to #Sudan. However, it is crucial to keep Adré open permanently & allow for unrestricted access to the entire territory & population.

EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib said Monday the European Union is providing 68 million euros this year for the Rohingya response, including host communities in Bangladesh and for the Myanmar conflict, notably for the people caught in violence in Myanmar's Western Rakhine state.

Israel’s order to cut all electricity supply to Gaza a week after cutting aid supplies will worsen the already dramatic humanitarian crisis. It is urgent to deliver a lasting ceasefire to save civilian lives.

Farah means joy in Arabic. She embodies hope and resilience. From Zaatari camp to Brussels, she has a powerful message: "Give us hope, let us dream." This #SyriaConference is about giving her and all Syrians the future they deserve.

Health personnel, ambulances & hospitals in Gaza have come under Israeli attack - yet again. These acts destroy life-saving efforts. Humanitarian aid must continue. Civilians & aid workers must be protected. International Humanitarian Law must be upheld. ec.europa.eu/commission/pre…

Gaza has just 2 wks of food left, warns the World Food Programme, following my discussion with Cindy McCain. The dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza is getting worse by the day since Israel cut the delivery of humanitarian aid on 2/3. Time is running out. We need to react & relaunch ceasefire talks.

Deeply concerned by the destruction caused by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit #Myanmar & the broader region. We’re monitoring the situation & have activated the #Copernicus earth observation tool to facilitate impact assessment. 🇪🇺 stands ready to provide emergency support.

Hadja Lahbib (@hadjalahbib) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Acting fast. EU is already providing €2.5mil in emergency aid for people affected by this morning’s earthquake in #Myanmar. This will help address the immediate needs of the most vulnerable.  EU has activated its Copernicus satellite service to facilitate impact assessment.

International humanitarian law is clear — humanitarian aid must reach civilians in need. The use of humanitarian aid as a tool of war is prohibited by international law.

The #EuropeanUnion will stay. As a strong humanitarian partner, standing with those who need us most, no matter where they are, extending a hand, offering support, giving hope. This will not change. This was my message at the opening of #EHF2025.

How do we improve humanitarian response? Shrink the distance. We must support local communities, first responders on the frontline & put their needs & priorities at centre. Excellent discussion in Brussels with Commissioner Hadja Lahbib, Achim Steiner & Amb. Elsebeth Søndergaard Krone. #EHF2025

This 4th European Humanitarian Forum is a crucial one. International Humanitarian Law is being violated. Humanitarian aid workers risk their lives to save lives. They must be protected. Our shared humanity & common future are at stake. #EHF2025
