The growing calls from the far-right to pardon George Floyd’s murderer are disgusting. And while these calls are happening, the Trump Administration continues to target Black leaders, as we all witnessed recently with the arrest of Mayor Ras Baraka.

Don’t be fooled. Regardless of Trump’s actions, Derek Chauvin will remain behind bars — where he belongs — on state charges. All Trump would accomplish by pardoning Chauvin is to send a clear message to the Black community: that he doesn’t care about our right to live.

What happened to lowering costs? What happened to ending inflation on Day One? Not only would a pardon be deeply offensive and sickening, it would use race as a blatant distraction from the fact that Trump has no clue how to govern.

It’s no surprise that Trump’s Department of Coverups and Vengeance isn’t seeking justice. It’s been five years, and police reform legislation still hasn’t passed in Congress, and police departments still haven’t been held accountable. Five years. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…

We condemn the murders of Israeli embassy staffers Yaron Lischinsky & Sarah Milgrim. These hateful acts of violence have no place in our community. Our prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims. It's time to come together as a country. We need healing over hate.

If a Reconciliation bill is so “Big and Beautiful,” why was it voted on in the middle of the night? It’s giving “Side Bill” to us. 😒

Deploying troops to communities already under pressure is not leadership—it’s provocation. The Trump Administration is weaponizing fear to divide and destabilize. We will not be silent. We stand with those targeted and terrorized. We fight for justice. Always.
