We explored different creatures from pond water under microscopes. Definitely a favourite activity from our day! Here is some of the amazing things we found!

Gray tree frog. Ontario’s only tree frog and one of my favourite animals. Their colour-changing skin makes them quite hard to find. Thanks LevitheNatureGuy for the frog tube!

Special thanks to Nature Nate for helping us to fall in love with the gifts of nature! This was, by far, one of the most popular learning centres at camp today. Students learned about insects, fish, amphibians and their habitats through gentle and respectful hands-on exploration.

Embryonic pond snails found by Waterloo Region DSB students on Monday. These baby snail people (they/them) are another reminder that gender is a human construction. Happy #pridemonth! #kwpride #timelapse (approximately 1 hour filmed on 40x light microscope) #cute
