Giraffe taxonomy is incredibly interesting and convoluted, especially given the pattern of ancient and modern admixture between different populations, subspecies, and now species! 4 species currently recognized!

Is there any good reason to use "utilized" over "used" in a piece of writing? I always favor the latter, but I see the former popping up in a lot of scientific writing. Google Ngrams def agrees that "used" is more common / accessible term (and shorter!)

Record-breaking rainfall in #SouthDakota, #Iowa, and #Minnesota has flooded communities, damaged property and infrastructure, and prompted evacuations and road closures. Areas southeast of Sioux Falls received greater than 10 inches within a three-day period. #MidwestFloods

In 2019, we set 10 camera traps from 65-90m in the crown of the world's tallest tropical tree, with no real idea whether they'd get anything at all They did 🤩 ... 🧵 #Borneo #RainforestGiants

All the finalists’ presentations and research were fantastic. Never thought I would win this SSB premier award. I am truly honored. It really means a lot. I had to grow and sell catfish to get my first computer. It took a ton of them to get a $500 DIY-built PC in 2007. #Evol2024

It's International Wolf Day today! 🐺 I've been studying wolves for over 10 years now. I wanted to share some facts and findings about one of my favorite populations of wolves -- the Indian wolf.
