Regardless of how their matches turn out this weekend, the United States and Germany will advance to the finals of OWC for the 11th time in a row. They're the only two teams to reach the finals stage in every year since OWC adopted its double elimination format in 2014. 🐐🇺🇸🇩🇪

2018: USA vs UK GFs, Vaxei's power goes out (US led 5-4 during DC) 2021: USA vs Germany WFs, fancy lad's power goes out (tied 6-6 during DC) 2024: USA vs Australia WSFs, mrekk's power goes out (US led 5-4 during DC) Every three years... this has got to be a curse...

Reiterating: mrekk's disconnect likely wouldn't have mattered because he would've had to make up an 800k+ deficit. However, mrekk already missed a few times throughout the map, so the US would've won the map and the match anyways. Still though, you don't wanna win like that...

Prior to today, the United States never lost a match in the finals/grand finals stage of OWC in 6 years. They were 17-0 in such matches dating back to the 2018 OWC Grand Finals. South Korea ended that. The same team that ended their historic match winning streak 2 years ago.

Late and couldn’t watch grand finals because school sucks But man… They did it. Once and for all. A journey years in the making finally has it’s storybook ending. It’s been a long 11 years… but their 4th title has finally arrived. Congrats South Korea! 🇰🇷🥇🥇🥇🥇
