Next up @Baker_Lab_Cam talking about zoonotic transmission of pathogens from animals to humans in Vietnam Cambridge University #horizon @bbc2
1/3) #BehindtheLabCoat Dr Charlotte Houldcroft, a Research Associate for Cambridge Dept of Medicine, may traditionally work with DNA viruses, but that did not stop her from applying past experiences sequencing nosocomial outbreaks as a member of this team.

Lovely to meet Molly and her dad today. Molly sent us a letter on how to stop #COVID - it was so good we brought her in for the day. Myra Hosmillo and @Baker_Lab_Cam did an awesome job showing her all the cool things about antibodies. @CamPathology Cambridge University
Was a fun and inspiring day with @Baker_Lab_Cam and Ian Goodfellow and our smart little microbiologist, Molly, who wrote to the hospital about her idea on controlling COVID pandemic using antibodies.

Pre-print of our latest paper Cambridge COVID-19 Genomics Lab: genomic epidemiology of #Covid_19 in care homes including 700 care home resident #SARSCoV2 genomes. High mortality for care home residents with large clusters (care home outbreaks) & multiple introductions medrxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
Did you catch our very own Ian Goodfellow and Myra Hosmillo on CBS Mornings a two weeks ago? Our lab, working with COVID-19 Genomics UK (COG-UK) Consortium, is committed to supporting real time, genomic surveillance efforts in response to the ongoing #COVID19 pandemic!
We now have our paper for strand specific assay for human noroviruses publicly available—- wellcomeopenresearch.org/articles/6-245 So grateful for the hardwork of all the authors. This is an important assay that will be useful for the field, especially in confirming active virus replication.
