Today we filed claims against OpenAI under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. For online news orgs who typically don't register copyrights, we think this is the optimal approach for pushing back.

UPDATE: I made a #FOIA request for records from the processing of my Santa Claus request to see what caused FBI's belated embrace of the Xmas spirit. It refuses to produce anything claiming it would 'risk circumvention of the law.'

Still waiting on the Santa docs themselves.

UPDATE: This morning, FBI said it “complied with [its] standard procedures” in responding to my #SantaClaus #FOIA and is “unable to resolve [my] dispute.” #bahhumbug

An hour later, we received a Xmas miracle! 'We determined that additional processing is required.'
