#FlashbackFriday β³ Construction of the 'Quartermile' bridge over the Maribyrnong River. Built in the 1920s, it was the highest railway bridge in Australia at the time. If you measure down to the river bed, it's still higher than the West Gate! π

#FlashbackFriday β³ Sam Merrifield Library turns 55 years young this week! π₯³ This photo, published in the Essendon Gazette in February 1968, shows the prospective site of the library - to be the Essendon Public Library - from Pascoe Vale Rd (the back of the building).
