Congrats to Megan Sutherland our new Deputy Fire Chief, Training and Compliance! Megan is a Muskoka Lakes Captain, Training Officer, was a 1st Class Firefighter Markham Fire (MFES), an adjunct Instructor for the Ontario Fire College & holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Sports Management.

If you are going to burn during the daytime (7 am to 7 pm) during the fire season (April 1 to October 31) you will require a daytime burning permit. Burn Permits are available online at tml.burnpermits.com

Effective immediately, all Township of Muskoka Lakes Open Air Burning Permits are suspended until further notice. Daytime Burning is Prohibited. Evening Fires from 7 pm until 7 am the following morning are permitted.

The Muskoka Area Fire Chiefs have lowered the Fire Danger Rating to Moderate. In Muskoka Lakes, all open-air fire permits have been reinstated. Remember to activate your permit before lighting your fire. Don't have a permit? You can visit tml.burnpermits.com to get yours
