Looks like the block rewards have finally actually halved. Most blocks in the last day had minimum feerates in the 18–35 ṩ/vB range. The mempool briefly cleared 16+ ṩ/vB.

the thing about mass surveillance is that it induces a positive feedback loop: behavior revealed by mass surveillance is used as evidence that there needs to be more surveillance. with no limiting principle (fourth amendment or equiv), this quickly spirals out of control
