Still chewing over a trend at #OHBM2022. At one point more PhD students finished without designing a task. Then without collecting their own data. A pandemic-accelerated trend seems to be fewer preprocess data & just assume shared preprocessed data is fine. This seems concerning.

This is the kind of horrifying downstream effect you can have when politicians who do not know or care about healthcare, put themselves in charge of it. Many medications are used across conditions and have complex effects; their use should be decided by patients and their doctors

Wrote code that estimates variance inflation factors for ~contrasts~ of parameter estimates. I've never seen this before and think it is super helpful since we should only worry if VIFs are high for the contrasts (as opposed to single regressors) Enjoy: github.com/jmumford/vif_c…
