I have just been reading about Romany child burials from a long time ago; they were buried with an acorn in each hand, usually along a green lane at a favourite stopping place, often resulting in twin oaks as a remembrance marker.

It's clear already that Liz Truss will still be an effective campaigning tool for the Labour Party at the next general election at least. Possibly for the one after that as well.

Devastated to hear the news about my dear friend Nicky Gavron. Her service to our city was immeasurable, as a councillor, Deputy Mayor and Assembly Member. To me, she was not just a kind and generous friend, but also a teacher and a mentor. Her commitment to tackling climate

Oh dear, some pretty major mistakes made in this The Telegraph article on the Government renewables auction results today. Some mistakes have been spotted and it's already undergone hefty revisions (see below) - but it remains fundamentally misleading. Here's what it got wrong 🧵

Today I’m thinking of Khadija Saye - a visionary artist and a wonderful friend - who tragically lost her life in the Grenfell Tower fire. The memory of the 72 will never be forgotten.

Today in 1915 a German Zeppelin dropped a bomb on Batholomew’s Close & revealed this: The gatehouse of St Bartholomew's Church. A Tudor building that miraculously survived the Great Fire but been clad in the 18thC. The cladding was blasted off to reveal the 16th Century building.
