Beautiful leaving gifts from my fabulous Rise team today. It's starting to feel real. I have so many colleagues that I consider friends. It's going to be an emotional last few weeks.

The kindness of our parents reduced me to tears this evening. One parent brought the largest chocolate cake I've ever seen to share. Another stopped me at the gate and thanked me for the care and education that his daughter has had over the last 7 years.

...and that's a wrap. Four and a half years leading this wonderful school. Today has been emotional and the gifts have been overwhelming. We brought the whole school together in the church for one last time. Thanks you Syston Banksy for making this extra special! Syston Town News

I see this so often and it's been one of the most important reflections as a leader... Implementation fails without a system of reminders. Worth a read researchschool.org.uk/tudor-grange/n…

What will ungraded inspections look like from September? This sounds better for small primaries, with less focus on subject leaders, but less predictable in format. #edutwitter educationinspection.blog.gov.uk/2024/07/17/cha…

3 days into my new role. I've met multiple inspirational headteachers, spent a day getting to know staff as they prepare classrooms at Mowmacre & today I have had the pleasure of visiting our brand new school, Wellington Place, which opens next week. Excited is an understatement!

Clarity in pedagogical beliefs must shape our use of EdTech. Be clear on the 'why'. Efficient use of learning time? Enhance the learning experience? Reduce consumption of resources? Food for thought in our keynote this morning. @FionaAB #Discoveryconference2024

'Great teachers understand that what has been learnt is not the same as what has been taught' (Nuthall '07). They are also great connection makers. Just because they remember it, doesn't mean they understand it. Emma Turner FCCT #Discoveryconference2024

An income <Β£7,400 is ridiculously low to qualify for Free School Meals. Too many children are slipping through the net. The threshold should rise with inflation. There is also an inequality for pupils with no recourse to public funds. This is not their fault GOV.UK DfE Regions Group
