Happy to share our work in Nature Microbiology. Gamma-Mobile-Trio systems are mobile elements rich in bacterial defensive and offensive tools. If you're interested in #Antiphage #T6SS #Vibrio #MGE then this is for you. 🧵1/15 rdcu.be/dXMwQ nature.com/articles/s4156…

🚨New preprint from our lab! We map the RNA interactions in E. coli infected by lambda, revealing an RNA-driven regulatory layer in phage-host dynamics. We find a phage-encoded sRNA hijacking host replication machinery, impacting the phage cycle.#microbiology #phages Regulating with RNAs in Bacteria and Archaea

🎉 Super excited to announce that our study "Colibactin-driven colon cancer requires adhesin-mediated epithelial binding" is now published in Nature! Huge congratulations to first authors Maude Jans and Magdalena Kolata for their fantastic work! 1/6🧵🎉 nature.com/articles/s4158…

To bring our findings to life, we've created an animated video illustrating how pks⁺ E. coli drive colon cancer through adhesin-dependent binding mechanisms. Thanks to CRIG for co-funding this animation Nymus 3D | Science & Technology Communication Maude Jans Han Remaut youtu.be/tsKB7N9nrBg

So pleased to share the first study from our @CRUK Manchester Cancer Research Centre RadNet collab led by the amazing Nabina Pun with Travis Lab and Prof. Illidge Urszula Cytlak Chemokine Research Group Lydia Becker Institute WTCCMR biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

🎉 Exciting news! Led by Mackenzie Gutierrez, our latest on the gut mycobiome and its role in metabolic health is now published in Nature Communications ! 🧫🍄 Explore how fungal colonization influences obesity and metabolic inflammation in mice. shorturl.at/Sstq0 🧵

🚨🚨 Dear friends in North America: I will be taking a 1-year sabbatical at UW-Madison MMI with the wonderful Mark Mandel (bringing the #mucus back to the marine world) from August 2025. If you want to meet up, let me know! Please share

On my way to Digestive Disease Week #DDW25!!

We're beyond proud to feature a nature paper by one of our Systems_Immunology_WIS rising stars Ranit Kedmi!!! In this paper, the very first from the Kedmi lab, Ranit & colleagues decode immune mechanisms govering tolerance to food! Cool & important findings! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Incredible! Over the past 2 months, 5 independent manuscripts — from The Colonna Lab, Dan Littman, Gardner Lab and Chrysothemis Brown, and our own (now in nature nature.com/articles/s4158…), reports that the dietary pTreg program is initiated by RORγt⁺ antigen-presenting cells. /1
