12 years since my last night shift as a “junior” doctor, I am only doing this in support of my trainee doctors: keep patients safe while they are restoring their pay.

I am a senior NHS consultant but as a junior doctor in 2005 I earned as much money as they do now for the same hours. I didn’t have a £100.000 student loan and life was much cheaper. I support their strikes now and in the future till their pay is restored.

Some weeks I discharge more patients to heavens than home. 90% of patients on my geriatric ward are medically fit for discharge. There is no social system crisis, because there is no social system anymore! apple.news/ATp0iiA-0TKyfz…
