Mountain Area Works A team participating in our Dislocated Worker Grant, employed by Mountain True, are actively engaged in river clean-up efforts across multiple counties. To date, these participants have removed more than 85,000 pounds of debris from local rivers, averaging 8,300 pounds per week!

Mountain Area Works The team launched a Facebook page - facebook.com/FrenchBroadRiv… - which has provided a variety of info, as well as photos of lost personal items found during their work, providing community members an opportunity to reclaim them. We are grateful to support important recovery work!

Mountain Area Works Through the U.S. Department of Labor, NC residents can be employed to support clean-up and recovery from Hurricane Helene. Participants may be employed for up to 12 months by nonprofits, state/local government, or private businesses engaged in relevant disaster-recovery work.
