This year’s fire season is severe due to record dry conditions, lightning storms, & human activity, with millions of acres burned. Human-caused ignitions account for 75% of PNW fires, prompting aggressive firefighting efforts, air tankers, and nationwide crew mobilizations.

Today is Patriot Day, day of Service and Remembrance in honor of the attacks of 9/11/2001. We pause to remember those who lost their lives, the survivors whose lives were forever changed, and the families and friends who continue to carry the weight of that day.

Work continues at the Summit Rest Area & Sno-Park on US 26 in Government Camp. This site has long been in need of repaving, so we're happy to partner with OregonDOT and Federal Highway Admn to improve it. The rest area remains closed through 9/13.
