I think areolate mildew has showed up 7-10 days earlier than in 2022. Pay attention to the lower-to-middle canopy. Symptoms typically present on the leaf underside, but at least in MS we are seeing symptoms and signs of the fungus on the upper leaf #mscrops Cotton Incorporated

It was wonderful to be back in SC for this year’s APS SouthernDivision meeting! A week full of ideas, great conversations, and fun times. Feeling very grateful to be representing the Southern Division at the upcoming The American Phytopathological Society national meeting! See y’all in Memphis!

Last Thursday, it was great to hear from recent PLPM graduate Dr. Khanal (Sabin Khanal) and others at the Beaumont Rice Field Day. It was a good day for disease hunting too, with finding panicle blight (Burkholderia, 3rd picture), among others 🌾
On our way to Plant Health, we visited the Lonoke, AR area, seeing great examples of root knot nematode galling and foliar symptoms, as well as southern blight (A. rolfsii).
