We've had an interesting week reflecting on the importance of literacy in the lead up to #InternationalLiteracyDay - some super interesting (and very amusing!) responses from the children!

Just finished the audiobook When The Sky Falls written and read by Phil Earle and what a treat it was! The moving tale of a young boy, struggling to deal with the turmoil of WW2, who is sent to live with a woman whose only loves are her rundown zoo and silverback gorilla🦍

Four years ago during I set out to fill my bookshelf with more Children's/ YA books from Black authors. I only had 6 books at the time. Now I have so many that I can't fit them all in this picture! I love reading characters like me in these pages. Happy #BlackHistoryMonth 🖤

We're pleased that our important research, which found that 1 in 8 primary schools in the UK are without a school library, has been used to help launch National Literacy Trust and Penguin Books UK' new Primary School Alliance and support school libraries during this difficult time.
