In 🇲🇿, UNHCR is reaching thousands, providing essential humanitarian assistance, protection & shelter to displaced people & host communities. On this Thanksgiving, we also celebrate the generosity of the American🇺🇸 people and Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration for the immense support to our cause. 🙏

With generous support from Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, a total of 187 durable shelters have been completed🏠in Maratane, Nampula🇲🇿 in 2024, benefitting nearly 1,000 people. Shelter is key to restoring personal security, self-sufficiency and dignity to forcibly displaced people.

🛠 UNHCR mobilizes immediate support for #CycloneChido affected people in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces.  In partnership with local authorities, UNHCR delivered emergency items to 1,000 individuals, including blankets, sleeping mats, buckets, solar lamps and mosquito nets.
