Earlier today Tigers legend Willie Horton (MSHOF Class of 1987) visited with Steve Greenberg, son of Tigers legend Hank Greenberg (MSHOF 1958). Steve, the former Deputy Commissioner of Major League Baseball, co-founded Classic Sports Network (now known as ESPN Classic).

Don Shane is part of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame’s newest class. The longtime WXYZ Detroit sports director will be celebrated at the October 17 ceremony. Don passed away in 2023. We miss him dearly, but are thrilled to see him join this Hall of Fame.

Jim Harbaugh has been elected to the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in the Coach category. During his time leading Michigan Football, Harbaugh guided U-M to a 86-25 record with three consecutive Big Ten Championships and the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Ken Holland has been elected to the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, after winning four Stanley Cups with the Red Wings. He spent 36 years with the Red Wings, including 22 as the team’s general manager.

Earl Cureton’s legendary basketball career is being honored by the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. Cureton is getting the Michigan Treasure award. The NBA, Detroit Mercy, and Finney High School great will be celebrated at the Oct. 17 event. Cureton passed away earlier this year.

Cecil Fielder has been elected to the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame’s class of 2024. The former Tigers slugger was a three-time All-Star in seven seasons with the team, leading all of baseball in home runs and RBI in back-to-back seasons.

Michigan Football great Braylon Edwards has been elected to the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame’s newest class. Edwards went to Bishop Gallagher High School and won the 2004 Biletnikoff Award. He is the only Big Ten player with three consecutive 1,000 receiving yard seasons.
