a big, discreet form of bullshit in the self help industry is the pressure to turn every negative into a positive. optimism, reframes, etc are huge. but also, sometimes, itโ€™s not self pity. youโ€™ve just been through some strange, dark shit. & thatโ€™s what you need to have heard.
