A reminder my friends. Tomorrow is the day to bring awareness to missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2spirited. There is not one family in my community who has not lost someone dear to them, and most have no answers. #MMIWG2S #MMIW Wear red in respect.

The War Room is baffled if anyone involved in the curriculum actually knows any children. The WR also can't imagine why any one would expect a child to care about changes to medieval laws. And then we started looking in to it. Anyone ever heard of Trial By Ordeal? (1/)

Excellent read and analysis. Time to stop this process, re-engage with teachers and experts to create a curriculum that will actually serve our students. Opinion: Alberta moving forward with a flawed language arts draft curriculum edmontonjournal.com/opinion/column… via Edmonton Journal

Last month, minister LaGrange announced a plan to strip the ATA of its professional regulatory functions related to discipline, effectively changing the ATA to a trade union. Why scrap a system that has worked well for over 100 years? ➡️ loom.ly/yzm7lLw #ableg #abed

It’s not the kids I’m worried about. It’s the teachers who hold them. The more time I spend with teachers, the more I am convinced that I’ve never seen so many of them this tired, this unseen, or this concerned about our kids. Our teachers are hurting.

When you view the make up of the Curriculum Implementation Advisory Committee, you will see a majority of people there will not be responsible for the day in and day out implementation of curriculum. It's a failure of government to not listen to those who actually do this work.

The Minister said this group told them to move forward with implementation, yet teachers, school leaders and school boards are saying slow down and delay the implementation as we recover from the last two years. alberta.ca/assets/documen…

"The shift from an active and exploratory early-childhood pedagogy to a more scripted and instruction-based model...favors shallow mimicry...while devaluing complex, integrative learning." The curriculum isn't about ideas - just "naming and labeling": goo.gl/Ns1Viq
