Students at North Lake Early College High School had the opportunity to participate in the Dallas Youth Summit hosted by Close Up Washington. Our students explored different issues in their community and heard from a panel of Dallas Leaders. They are living out our motto-learners today, leaders tomorrow!

Mr. Heiple's Accelerated Geometry course gallery walks are so cool-his lessons are so On POINT. Students are learning that without Geometry-life is pointless. (I'll stop with the geometry puns now!)

We started off with a KWL chart today! We reviewed what students already knew about US History, and then previewed all of our eras! “I thought I was going to be bored in this class, but i want to know what’s happening in these pictures!”

My 2nd period decided they will exclusively refer to me as Mega Moss. (Naturally I get observed on this day.) During my fun Gallery Walk one of my kids is reading from the Homestead Act “Yo Mega Moss, sign me up for these 160 acres of land. I can farm and i can thrive!” 🫠😂☠️
